Prevalence of MGUS across populations
Confirming the influence of toxic chemicals and disease exposure on the development of myeloma, a recently published study titled ‘Prevalence of Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance in Black South African Men’ has found that the prevalence of MGUS in Black SA men is substantially higher than in White populations and may be associated with HIV status and cigarette use.
